CO2 LAGS temperatures by about 6 to 800 years (see attached graph). This is because when temps go up, things grow more, and more CO2 is generated, and conversely, less CO2 is generated when temps go down.
The "massive body of work" has been largely discredited. The prognostications have NOT panned out, and they do NOT work when run backwards, to duplicate past climate.
But the "QED" moment comes when you realize the CO2 has been rising monotonically over the last couple of decades (and more) but the temperatures went DOWN in the '70's, and Global Freezing was predicted, due to increasing anthropomorphic CO2. But when the temperatures went back up in the late '80's, the same folks proclaimed Anthropomorphic Global Warming (*_*) Now we REALLY have them in a bind, since the temperatures after 1998 have all been lower (see attached graph)
Now the Warmers are claiming "foul", trying to discredit the cooling, using the same tactics we used against the phony hockey-stick warming theory - namely that the data was cherry-picked. That claim is false, the change in data point selection for global temperature values was CORRECTED, not cherry picked - for example, it is well-known that urban areas grow, and hence the urban heat island grows. Those have to be taken in to account by then including more outlying temperatures.
Thus it's all over, climate varies with time, due to the solar cycles, and since there are at least 3, of vastly different periods, the peaks, valleys, and intervals are highly variable.
